The spirit of Wey Gey Hey was once again on full display as the Wesley Girls’ High School community gathered to celebrate our historic annual Speech and Prize Giving Day. This year’s event was more than just a ceremony; it was a powerful testament to the enduring impact of our institution as we look toward a future built on excellence, service, and unity.

A Legacy of FOURtified Impact

This year, the mantle of leadership for the Speech Day celebrations was taken up by the 2004 Year Group, affectionately known as the Fantastic Fours. Under their inspiring theme, FOURtified: Unstoppable Together, the group reminded us all that the strength of our school lies in our collective ability to contribute, build, and uplift one another.

The 2004 year group did not just come to celebrate; they came to build. Their fundraising campaign has been a beacon of commitment, aimed at financing critical infrastructure improvements, including a fully furnished first floor for the school’s new Resource Centre. Their vision, to strengthen learning and community life, serves as a reminder that the Wey Gey Hey culture is a well-oiled machine, fueled by generations of women who give back long after they have left Kakum Hill.

Celebrating Our Patron and Pillars

A highlight of the season was the unveiling of the group’s Patron, Madam Araba Botchway. A proud member of the Class of 1984 and a distinguished leader in education, Madam Botchway’s involvement symbolizes the bridge between our storied past and our innovative future. Her dedication to youth leadership mirrors the very values we hold dear: Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong, Follow the King.

Looking Forward to 190 Years of Excellence

As we move past the excitement of the Speech Day, the momentum continues. We are rapidly approaching a monumental milestone, the 190th Anniversary of Wesley Girls’ High School.

This anniversary is an open invitation to every Old Girl, parent, friend, and supporter. It is a time to invest in legacy projects that will shape the next 190 years, including the new Steam Kitchen to enhance the dining experience and the Basic School Project to build a stronger educational foundation for the next generation of leaders.

Join the Movement

The success of Wesley Girls’ High School has always been a shared mission. Whether through cheering on our students, supporting legacy infrastructure, or simply upholding the values of the school, every contribution brings us one step closer to our vision.
